Our Mission

Our mission is RESCUE, and that includes educating the people of our community about being responsible pet owners; about "doing the right thing" and having their pets SPAYED or NEUTERED, not just for the health of their pets, but to REDUCE the huge number of homeless dogs in shelters like ours across the country.  We look for every opportunity to promote our message to the citizens of our community through visiting and telling our story at school and community events.  We distribute information to all our visitors and everyone we meet, explaining how spaying and neutering of pets can make a difference in our community and society as a whole.  We are committed to helping the homeless dogs of Jackson County, Indiana and work with local animal control to reduce the number of strays in our community.  We give the homeless dogs a warm, dry place to sleep, veterinary care, nutritious food, kind words and a gentle touch.  We explore every resource available to help find caring homes for these needy dogs, and celebrate each and every adoption and success story!

Who We Are

We're a 501c3 non-profit canine rescue organization located in southern Indiana.

Here at Red Sky Rescue we offer a haven to homeless and abandoned dogs in our community, providing them a temporary home, food, shelter and health care along with a gentle touch, a kind word, and a chance to find a new family to love. 

We provide a temporary sanctuary for those dogs who are found abandoned on the country roads in Jackson County.

 We always have a variety of rescued dogs and puppies available for adoption.

Visitors are welcomed (by appointment) and we'd love to show you around and introduce you to our rescued dogs!  You can see our adoptable pets at www.redsky.petfinder.com

We rely on the generosity of our friends and supporters to continue our mission of promoting early spay/neuter of family pets and caring for the stray and abandoned dogs in our community while we work to find them new homes.
